Developed by a deer stalker, for deer stalkers, these drop-point knives have a tactile grip, and come in a range of lengths for different size deer, fish and game.
This is an exceptionally tactile grip, with glow in the dark liners, essential for use in low light, and a superb grip at any angle.
These knives are ideal for field dressing, where the blunt point and the straight blade minimise the risk of gut puncture, as well as being ideal for skinning in a larder.

James made a purpose built 5" BBQ knife, based on the pit pony. The quality, attention to detail, customer service and after service are outstanding. As for the knife, it is well balanced, handles beautifully and enhances the whole outdoor butchering and carving experience; would highly recommend.

Used my new 4" drop point hunter to gralloch and larder a brace of fallow bucks yesterday. Cracking knife , really well balanced, fits right in the hand and a very useable blade shape. Really happy with it and James is a nice chap to deal with.

James Penny Knives was established in 2020, where I brought together my two passions and areas of expertise: engineering and hunting. I started off in a garage making the knives then quickly moved into larger premises and now have my own dedicated workshop. I've worked in the engineering industry since 1994 and been involved in hunting from an early age. By combining this knowledge, I can create gralloching knives of precision, handling, and design.
My work has been featured in The Shooting Times, with articles written by Chris Dalton who has been crowned professional Deer Stalker of the year many times. Chris is kindly doing a longevity test on one of my 4” Drop-Point Hunters with the Pit Pony handle, with great feedback so far.
